1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible DGC0714 VIN. WA78100717. Washington State VIN tag. When I first bought the '40 I was not sure how good it would be? We took it (Andrew drove it) straight away to get serviced and safety checked. They went thought it and spent $1,000.00 and what a difference. I drove it up the road when I was taking photos. It hit up to 70 MPH, but not sure how accurate the speedo is? I learned that the odometer does not work but the heater does. This Ford just drives easy. When I was taking the photos and moving it around I just let the clutch out never put my foot on the gas. It just pulled slowly away around the lot and I never touched the gas. Try that. To me it's impressive. The top is old but good. Someone put the top down without unsnapping the side snaps and tore the top on both sides. We are installing a new top and having a new boot made. The vacuum rams are not working but the top goes up and down very easily. No radio. Wipers work and it has turn signals. The interior is good but when they install the top I will have them install the back seat carpet. Also the trunk mat. I took the old one out. This is not a perfect car but it is solid with not much if any rust, as I have not found any so far. I need to get it up in the air to take underside photos and video.
