1955 GMC
1/2 Ton Pickup
Sold
1955 GMC PU. DGT6857 VIN A28806857 We bought this pickup originally out of Boise, Idaho. We sold it and had a couple of things done to it, like the seat was all reupholstered. We then took it back in on trade for another vehicle we had, and so it's back up for sale again. This was a one-family-owned truck. The grandfather bought a brand-new one, and I bought it from the granddaughter in Boise, ID. This is an early V-8 truck. GMC installed a 287 V-8 engine from Pontiac. The transmission is a compound low four-speed. The truck has a new gas tank sending unit. The tires are in very good condition. The paint looks really good. You will find some nicks and scratches, but overall, the body looks great. We did not find any rust except for 3 small spots on the underside. The underside is really straight and solid. It looks good. The interior has a newly upholstered seat, and the rest of the interior is in decent condition. The engine compartment is clean, and it looks good with that Pontiac V8 engine in it. There is a recent new wood bed, and it looks good. Andrew has been driving it back and forth right now. Andrew says it runs and drives great. He also said the transmission is a little stiff to shift. We took it in, and they installed a new clutch, and now it shifts very well. It has a little play in the steering wheel, but it tracks straight. This truck has a very good eyeball. It's not a show truck. So you can drive it like Andrew did and enjoy it. We've got it working much better now and should give you many, many miles of good service.
