1951 Ford 4 Door Sedan Flathead V-8 Automatic Transmission
Very nice real straight
Original car in above average condition. Recently painted and new floor mats. Flat head V8 with automatic transmission. Original upholstery that is in good condition except headliner is stained. Radio and heater are in good working order. Very interesting history. In 1951 two soldiers from Spokane Washington ended up in New York on a Korean troop transport for discharge. They could not find a way home because all the buses and trains were booked. They were anxious to get home, so they went to the Ford dealer bought the '51 and drove it home to Spokane. They both owned the Ford for years. Then the one bought the other out. This goes into the early 2000's. Still original paint but worn thought in places. It was then sold to a man in Spokane that belonged to the Early Ford V-8 Club. Dave from Boise Id. went to Spokane for the Early Ford Club meet. Saw the Ford and bought it. Dave cleaned the original interior but could not get the spots out of the headliner. Dave had Jimmy's Auto in Garden City Paint the Ford about 4 years ago. We just had the service and safety check done and found that the automatic transmission was not shifting correctly so off to the tranny shop where they discovered the case was bad. Andrew found a used one and they rebuild it. Transmission is like new now. We will get more photos and video as soon as we can.
