1928 Ford Model A Sport Coupe DGC2727 VIN CA122727 I like Ford Model A's and this was a fun one to buy. This Model A was located on Lopez Island. What made this fun to buy? It was a beautiful day, my wife dropped me off at the ferry terminal, and I rode the ferry to Lopez Island,.It was a fun trip through the San Juan Islands. I walked off the ferry, and the owner picked me up at the top of the ferry ramp. He took me to his house to inspect the Model A. I could tell from the photos that I wanted to buy it, when I got there it was even better. This car looks like a convertible because it has a canvas top, but it does not fold down at all. This one has a rumble seat. Cowl lights. Spare tire mounted on the rear. Has an alternator instead of a generator. Chrome front and rear bumpers. Aftermarket turn signals. I did not find any rust at all. This is a really solid Model A. He bought it in Calgary Alberta Canada, 15 years ago. They shipped it by train from Calgary to Vancouver BC where he picked it up and drove it back to Lopez Island. He mainly used it in the Fourth of July parades and kept it well cared for. I like the color combination. He informed me that it is a light pale, green, trimmed with yellow and yellow wheels with wide white tires. After the inspection I bought the Ford. He handed me the keys which consisted of three keys, one for the ignition, one for the door lock, and one for the rumble seat lock. He didn't know if they all worked. When I was on the ferry, I tried the keys and all three work just fine. They took photos and I drove off. I also noticed the fuel gauge was below a quarter tank I don't always believe the fuel gauges on old cars so I drove down past Fisherman's Bay and then went to the main store on the island which sells gas. I put in about 5 gallons, so I would know that I could get home just fine. Then I was off to the ferry back to Anacortes, Washington. Then I drove it back to Drager's Clubhouse. I put on a total of 33 miles from Lopez Island to Drager's Clubhouse. We are now getting it cleaned up, and serviced and safety checked so it'll be ready to go for you. I think you'll be real happy owning this Model A Sports Coupe. We noticed that the tires were old and showed some cracking, so we're installing brand new wide white tires and we're having the rims reconditioned and re-powder coated. It's gonna look great.
